The quality of life in Brighton and Hove means that it is facing intense pressure to accommodate housing growth. Located between a national park and the sea, options to expand geographically are limited. The challenge the city council faces is to how to accommodate growth without compromising the city’s unique quality and qualities.
To help the city address this challenge, Design South East along with Yemí and other built environment professionals participate in independent design review for the council as part of the pre-application process, together with parallel programme events to promote the design conversation in the city.
